still can't figure it out? ok, i'll put it in 2nd grade terminology.
Really not sure how the first rule page wasn't clear enough; I'm literally going to say the exact same things. But oh well.
-Each Sector has mercenaries to beat and then a castle to beat in order. Can't make sense of that? IT'S ORDERLESS GYMS AND AN E4. SO EACH SECTOR IS LIKE ITS OWN LEAGUE.
-Challengers start with the provided team of 6 listed in the general rules and home page. (If you can't figure that out, I don't know what to tell you.)
-When you beat a mercenary (gym leader, if that's how you need to call it), you get a Pokemon from them. that Pokemon is the one that the mercenary is REQUIRED to have on their team in order to pass it on. So you're "stealing powers" from the mercenaries you beat.
-You can only turn a Pokemon Mega if it is listed Mega on the website. Ex: the Sector 1 Scizor is ONLY a scizor, so it can't be made mega.
-Some battles, usually the random battles, do not have Pokemon you can unlock from them, even though they aren't a Castle. These will be marked. You may also loose a Pokemon for a short time (going with the story of the games this league is based around.)
-You can't take Pokemon from the Castle Members (E4/Champ, if you can't process it otherwise). Some Sectors will have more than one Castle. You have to beat the first castle before you battle the second.
-You beat each sector before you start on the next. (Like separate leagues, get it?) The number sectors come before the letter sectors, so you have to beat Sector 10 to get to Sector A.
FOR PEOPLE TRYING TO JOIN:
-Look at the little note in the top right of this page. This League is based on MegaMan. You are the robot masters and Dr. Wily castle bosses.
-Rather than just going off of types, each sector has a list of themes and a required Pokemon for the theme. You pick a theme that you like, build a team with the required Pokemon, and test it against Skull or an authorized tester.
-Since it's off the games, the number of people and team themes will be set on that of the bosses or important mini-bosses from the connected MegaMan game. Meaning, no, you can't add a theme/type you decide on in a sector that's already full. You get what's available, and that's that. Don't like them? there's more next sector.
-Like the storyline of the games, the sectors are opened and filled in order. So don't ask to be in Sector 8 or Sector B if we're on Sector 4.
-If you want to try out, one of the staff members will give you the openings for the sectors that have been released. THESE WILL MOSTLY NOT BE MONOTYPE. Most teams will be around a theme, rather than a type, for you to build a team around, including your required Pokemon.
-You are required ONE Pokemon. No, this does not mean I'm picking your team for you, or that you can only have 1 Pokemon. It means you build a team of 6 around the provided themes and include the one Pokemon. Unless I tell you you can't have 6 Pokemon, you get 6 Pokemon. (Common sense, right? You'd be surprised how much I'm asked that.)
-Megas will not be allowed in the lower sectors except for a few low powered ones. After sector 3, the restrictions loosen, but ask before you use one so you don't have to change it later.
-You don't get to have challenger rules. The challengers will get the Pokemon and moves they have. You may get to do a custom battle for your theme to evade species clause or to do a required ability change, and possibly use ONE uber if the position requires it. Other than that, you're just 6th Gen Pokebank OU.
-Be active. plain and simple. If you need to leave for a while, tell someone, or you might get the inactivity boot.
-You can move up sectors to another spot of the same or similar theme. You will have to try out for it. Do not ask to be moved to a Sector that is not open yet. If you refuse to hold the spot you have until that sector is open, I CAN refuse you the new spot when the sector opens. So don't be a jerk.
-You can have more than 1 spot if you want that are different, as long as they are in the same sector.
